Bonus Building Care helps with Ronald McDonald House Extreme Spring Cleaning
BONUS Building Care has come forward to assist with over $14,000 in donated labor and materials
CINCINNATI, OH, April 29, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati looks forward to opening their new 30-room expansion wing to families with critically ill children, BONUS Building Care has come forward to assist with over $14,000 in donated labor and materials. On Saturday, April 11th, Brian Peters, Executive Director of BONUS, will oversee a team of 40+ volunteers as well as his direct staff of five to give some extra attention to both the original House and new wing in anticipation of the grand opening on April 29th.
While the expansion wing was under construction, Ronald McDonald House underwent significant renovations to their original building and grounds in order to accommodate an additional 500 families each year. Once these were complete, BONUS wanted the opportunity to do some detailed clean-up to both buildings in order to "do the job in a way that will enhance the environment and stay for the families and the kids."
BONUS' Executive Director Brian Peters and Director of Operations Doug Ryan will arrive early Saturday with a team of employees, friends and family members who have all donated their time for a full-on "spring cleaning." Projects include cleaning the carpet, stripping and refinishing the floors, cleaning the tile and grout as well as an overall sanitization, culminating in $14,900 of donated equipment, products and labor.
BONUS has been actively involved in making a difference at Ronald McDonald House over the past year by hosting movie nights and other family activities. Their goal has always been, as Ron Steenbergen says, "to create the best environment that the kids can have." Ronald McDonald House is very grateful to BONUS for doing just that.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Cincinnati provides health, hope and a "home away from home" for families seeking medical treatment for their critically ill children at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, regardless of their ability to pay. Since opening in 1982, the House has cared for more than 19,000 families from around the world, providing them a warm and supportive environment in which to rest so they can better care for their seriously ill children.
